Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26/04/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how E-Basel (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data of visitors to www.e-basel.com (“the Site”). E-Basel is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates by Eng. Mohamad Basel Al Najjar in his capacity as a Civil Engineering Consultant, DIAC Arbitrator, Tribunal Chairman and Accredited Expert Witness.

By using the Site or submitting personal data through it, you agree to the practices described below.

1. What data we collect

We collect personal data only when you provide it voluntarily. The categories of data collected include:

  • Contact data — name, email address, phone number, organisation name when you submit our contact form, request a credentials pack, or download a lead magnet.
  • Engagement data — additional details you provide when describing a matter for case assessment.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This is collected automatically through analytics tools.
  • Cookie data — see our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How we use your data

We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was provided:

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
  • To deliver lead magnets and credentials packs you have specifically requested.
  • To provide consultancy, expert witness, or arbitration services where formal engagement has been entered into.
  • To improve the Site through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory and professional obligations applicable in the UAE.

We do not use personal data for automated marketing campaigns, behavioural advertising, or profiling.

We process personal data on the following bases, applied in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and, where applicable, international standards including the EU General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Consent — when you submit a form or request specific content.
  • Contract — when processing is necessary to deliver services you have engaged us for.
  • Legitimate interest — for site analytics and security.
  • Legal obligation — where disclosure is required by UAE law, regulatory authority or court order.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties. We share personal data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Professional service providers — IT support, email delivery, and analytics providers operating under confidentiality obligations.
  • Tribunal or regulatory disclosure — where required by an arbitral tribunal, UAE court, or competent authority.
  • Legal compliance — where disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law.

5. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes stated above, subject to professional obligations to retain matter records. Matter-related data is held for a minimum of seven years from conclusion of the engagement, in line with UAE record-keeping standards for professional consultancy. Contact-form data not resulting in engagement is held for twelve months and then deleted.

6. Data security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), restricted access to client matters, and regular review of security practices. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed fully secure; we accept no liability for circumstances beyond reasonable control.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion, subject to professional retention obligations.
  • Object to processing on legitimate-interest grounds.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
  • Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or the relevant supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers (analytics, email delivery) operate servers outside the UAE. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure that recipients apply standards of protection at least equivalent to those required under UAE law.

9. Children

The Site is directed to professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of eighteen.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
