Expo City Mall will be spread over an area of 740,000 square feet and will feature over 300 retail outlets, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It will be designed to cater to the needs of residents in the area as well as visitors attending events at the nearby Expo 2020 site.

The mall is being developed by Emaar Properties, a Dubai-based real estate developer known for its iconic developments such as the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. The company has stated that Expo City Mall will be a “smart” mall, with features such as digital wayfinding and smart parking facilities.

The announcement of the mall’s opening has been met with excitement from both residents and tourists alike. Dubai is already home to some of the world’s largest and most luxurious malls, such as the Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates. Expo City Mall is expected to further cement Dubai’s position as a global shopping destination.

The mall’s location in the Emaar South project is strategic, as the development is located near the Expo 2020 site. The expo is expected to attract millions of visitors from around the world, and Expo City Mall will provide a convenient shopping and entertainment destination for these visitors.

In addition to its retail offerings, Expo City Mall will also feature a range of dining options, including international and local cuisine. It will also have a cinema and other entertainment venues to cater to visitors of all ages.

Overall, the opening of Expo City Mall is set to be a major addition to Dubai’s retail landscape. With its convenient location, smart features, and wide range of offerings, the mall is expected to attract a large number of visitors and further boost Dubai’s economy.

Dubai will open the Expo City Mall in 2024, featuring a large-scale offering of over 190 shops and F&B outlets.

The mall will be located in the Emaar South project, according to a Twitter post by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).

According to a report by Arabian Business‘ sister publication Hotelier Middle East, in terms of gross leasable area (GLA), it will be 385,000 sq ft, making it one of Emaar’s smaller malls.

Expo City Dubai opened on October 1, 2022 after hosting the over 24 million visitors for Expo 2020 Dubai, which ran from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Expo City Dubai, much like Expo 2020 Dubai, can be reached through the Dubai Metro and does not require an entrance fee. However, some specific attractions within the city may have their own ticketing system.

To promote a sustainable environment, cars will not be permitted on the site, and alternative modes of transportation like buggies, scooters, and bicycles will be available.

The use of single-use plastic is also prohibited on the premises, and the buildings will adhere to international sustainability standards to reduce energy and water usage.

Recently, Expo City Dubai also launched the first phase of Expo Valley and Expo Central.
